Wearing diapers all day and all night is a big commitment. Many people in the AB/DL community choose to do it for different reasons. Some like the comfort. Some like the feeling of security. Others simply enjoy the freedom of using them whenever they need to.

I wrote about starting 24/7 wear before. This time I want to talk about how to keep it going in a way that feels good and stays comfortable.

First, remember something important. You can stop at any time. If your job makes it hard, if money is tight, or if you spend a lot of time around people who do not know about your diapers, that is okay. It is completely fine to take a break or stop altogether when the situation no longer works for you. No one should feel forced to keep going.

When the Questions Start

After you wear for a while, it is normal to feel some strain. You might start to wonder if you should keep doing it.

If you are incontinent, diapers often feel like a natural part of life. But if you can choose to stop, those doubts can show up. That is normal. The key is learning how to handle those moments so the habit stays positive.

Step 1: Know How Diapers Make You Feel

The first step is simple. Pay attention to the good feelings.

Ask yourself these questions:

  • Do you like being able to use your diaper whenever it is convenient?
  • Do you enjoy the way the diaper feels while you use it or right after?
  • Does the diaper give you comfort and security that helps you get through the day?

Write down your answers. Keep the list somewhere you can see it. When doubts creep in, look at the list. It reminds you why you started and why it still matters to you.

Step 2: Build an Affirmation Loop

Next, create a short daily habit that strengthens your choice.

Every day, say something like this to yourself (out loud or in your head):

“Diapers are meant for me to wear. Wearing them does not make me weak or less of a person. They are an important part of my happiness.”

You can change the words so they feel right for you. The point is to hear the message often. Over time it becomes easier to push past doubt and stay steady with your routine.

Step 3: Adjust Your Routine So It Fits You

Wearing diapers every day is a responsibility, but it does not have to feel hard. Look at your daily habits and make small changes that make everything smoother.

Here are a few ideas that many people find helpful:

  • Watch how much you drink at certain times. This can lower the number of changes you need while you are out in public.
  • Try thicker diapers if you want extra security and fewer leaks.
  • Wear a onesie or compression shorts under your clothes. This keeps the diaper snug and can make it feel more private.
  • Keep a small change kit ready so you never feel stuck without supplies.
  • Plan quiet times at home for longer wears or bigger changes so the rest of your day stays simple.

Test one change at a time. Keep what works and drop what does not. The goal is a routine that feels easy and natural for you.

Step 4: Share the Experience with Friends Who Wear Too

This step worked well for me personally, and it can help many others.

Spend time with friends who also wear diapers 24/7. Let them talk openly about diapers around you. Ask them to encourage you. Some people even like a little light teasing about it. One of the reasons people share photos of themselves in diapers is to receive affirmation from others to keep going.

When people who understand you acknowledge that you wear diapers and support you, it changes how the habit feels. It stops feeling like a secret chore. Instead, it starts to feel normal and grounding. You are not alone in it. The support from others makes the whole process easier to keep going.

If you do not have friends like this yet, you can look for online groups or communities where people share the same lifestyle. Kind and open conversations can make a big difference.

Be Kind to Yourself

Wearing 24/7 works best when it adds something good to your life instead of taking energy away. Check in with yourself every so often. Ask if the habit still feels right. Celebrate the days that go smoothly. Be gentle on the days that feel harder.

You are allowed to adjust, pause, or continue as you choose. The most important part is that the choice stays yours.

If these tips help you keep going in a comfortable way, that is wonderful. If they help you decide something different is better for you right now, that is wonderful too. Either way, you are taking care of yourself — and that is what matters.
