Hello, my dear furry and diaper-loving friends! Today, we’re going to dive into a review of the Northshore Megamax adult diapers. The official title for them is Northshore Megamax Overnight Diaper Style Briefs with Tabs. I’ve spent some time getting to know this product intimately, and I’m eager to share my experiences with you all.
Northshore Megamaxes have quickly become a favorite in the AB/DL and babyfur community because they possess the perfect fit of absorbency, sizing and thickness. It was fun to have access to a bunch of free Megamax diapers at BabyFurCon this year. I was definitely able to get up, close and personal with them. They are definitely designed to withstand a lot, but there is plenty of bulk that’s required to handle heavy usage, which is why they’re technically for overnight use, not active.
Let’s look at the pros and cons for Northshore Megamax.
Here are the pros:
- Absorbency: Top-Notch Wetting Capacity Northshore claims that the Megamax can protect its wearer for up to 12 hours, and they’re not kidding! At an ISO max absorbency of 6500 ml, this diaper is incredibly thirsty. I was impressed by how much it could take before feeling truly soaked. The inner lining and acquisition layer distribute wetness efficiently, keeping the surface dry to the touch.
- Extra Wide and Long Absorbent Core: Maximum Coverage The Megamax diaper features an impressively wide and long absorbent core. This design provides exceptional coverage and reduces the risk of leaks, even during extended wear. For those who need the extra protection, this diaper delivers.
- Comfort: Soft and Gentle The inner lining of the Megamax is soft and gentle against the skin. The diaper features a comfortable elastic waistband and leg gathers that provide a secure fit without digging into the skin. I found them quite cozy for lounging around and even napping.
- Reliable. Refastenable Tabs with Frontal Landing Zone There are large, heavy-duty, refastenable tape tabs that can be applied onto the plastic frontal landing zone to hold firm at full capacity. They can readily hold onto dear life if the diaper takes a solid flooding or two.
And the cons:
- Bulkiness: The Waddle is Real While the Megamax’s absorbency is a significant plus, it comes with a trade-off: bulkiness. When this diaper is wet, it becomes quite thick between the legs, making it challenging to move around gracefully. If you’re planning on being active while wearing these, be prepared for a bit of a waddle.
- Bunching: The Awkward Sit Due to the diaper’s wide core and high absorbency, the Megamax tends to bunch up in the back, especially when sitting down. This can make finding a comfortable position a bit tricky at times. Be prepared to do a little adjusting when taking a seat.
- Value. As of Nov. 18, 2024, Northshore Megamaxes cost approximately $33.50 for a bag of 10 diapers. That brings each diaper to $3.35 a piece. Currently, there are more absorbent diapers being offered for less, and they also have hook and loop tapes. Perhaps if Northshore figured out how to put more in each bag, I can definitely see more value potential.
Overall Impression:
The Northshore Megamax adult diapers are an excellent choice for those seeking maximum absorbency and coverage. They’re comfortable, leak-resistant, and can handle an impressive amount of wetness. However, their bulkiness and tendency to bunch up may pose minor inconveniences for some users.
I’d recommend the Megamax for those who prioritize absorbency and don’t mind a bit of extra padding. They’re perfect for overnight wear or extended periods when you need that extra protection.
